Who needs another book? How about a certificate for a nice massage or pedicure. Just my two cents.

"How to Care for Aging Parents" by Virginia Morris. It's definitely the best I've seen. I still refer to it all the time.

Hi Everyone,
I'm looking into Joy Loverde's +The Complete Eldercare Planner, Second Edition: Where to Start, Which Questions to Ask, and How to Find Help+, does anyone know about this? I'm sure that much of this information is available on-line, but I really like that it's all bound in a single book with an index and everything. I'm most concerned with the money matters, legal matters, and insurance sections in the end. I'd love input for those who've already gone through it -- what is worth planning, what not. What books would have been worth it. Bigg D. I don't think these are good books as gifts, but let me offer +Elder Rage, or Take My Father... Please!: How to Survive Caring for Aging Parents+ and +Coping With Your Difficult Older Parent : A Guide for Stressed-Out Children + Other people I've talked to seem to love these books. Good luck!! |

Mothering Mother: A Daughter's Humorous and Heartbreaking Memoir by Carol Odell.
I'm taking care of my mother so it really hit home for me. It's a little bit chicken soupie, but if you weren't that way before, i think being a caretaker really brings that side out in people. i really enjoyed it even as it made me cry. It's not really a self help book or an instruction book but i thought i would mention it. |

I am certainly that much of this data is uncommitted on-line, but I really like that it am all apprenticed in an individual book with an indicator and everything. I am most referred with the money matters, legal affairs, and insurance divisions in the end.

There are several good books out there. I like "The Senior Solution: A Family Guide to Keeping Seniors Home for Life!" by Valerie VanBooven-Whitsell, RN.
There are a lot of good, objective online resources, too: Agis.com, Family Caregiver Alliance (www.caregiver.org), Redwood Caregivers Resource Center (www.redwoodcrc.org), GilbertGuide.com, etc. Steve Brooks WeCare Home Assistants |
